💡

Which installation method do I use?

The Equestrian Endurance Da Brim can be used with two types of equestrian helmets:

  • Section 1: Helmets with a non-removable visor greater than 1 inch in width. Use the pocket feature to install.
  • Section 2: Helmets with a flush front, removable visor, or pre-moulded lip up to 1 inch in width. Remove the visor first, then install.

Section 1: Non-Removable Visor (Over 1 Inch)

For helmets with a non-removable visor greater than 1 inch in width. Use the pocket feature to install.

1

Begin with a Loose Adjustment Strap

Start with the adjustment strap fully loosened before installation.

💡 Tip: Ensure the strap moves freely through the buckle before beginning.
2

Open the Front Pocket

Open the front pocket by separating the hook and loop fasteners. Insert the helmet's non-detachable visor into the pocket. Do not close the pocket fasteners yet.

💡 Tip: Make sure the visor slides fully into the pocket before proceeding.
3

Pull Down and Seat the Da Brim

Pull the rear of the Da Brim visor down and seat the Da Brim on the helmet. Make sure the crown of the Da Brim is level around the helmet's circumference and does not interfere with where your ears will sit.

💡 Tip: The brim should sit evenly all around the helmet without tilting to one side.
4

Tighten the Strap

Make sure the visor is as far inside the pocket as possible when the front of the Da Brim visor is resting flat against the front of the helmet. Tighten the strap by positioning your thumb at the rear of the helmet and pulling on the strap a few times. Tuck the strap into the hole provided.

💡 Tip: Give the strap several good tugs to achieve a tight grip.
5

Close the Front Pocket Fasteners

Close the fasteners on the front pocket by mating the hook and loops. Make sure the pocket is tightly closed. The brim should not be buckled or bowed. Double check the tightness of the strap.

💡 Tip: A properly closed pocket keeps the brim secure and prevents wind from lifting it.
6

Check for Correct Installation

Centres of the helmet and Da Brim visor should align. Always ensure the strap is tight. The Da Brim visor should always seat in a level plane around the helmet with the front pocket tightly closed, to prevent detachment. Inspect hook and loop fasteners regularly for wear. If the fasteners do not function properly, discontinue use of this product. Check by pulling upward on the front visor as if in wind flow. The Da Brim visor should not be loose or detach from the helmet.

Important: Failure to properly install could result in the visor unseating during use, startling a horse, or obstructing your vision, which may lead to serious injury.
💡 Tip: If the Da Brim visor does not seat as described, do not use it with this helmet. Failure to properly seat the visor could result in it unseating during use, startling a horse, or obstructing your vision.
7

Fit Your Helmet and Test Vision

After the Da Brim visor is installed on the helmet, follow the helmet manufacturer's instructions for fitting the helmet. Then, while the helmet and Da Brim product is fitted, and prior to using it in an activity, check to ensure that the Da Brim visor does not obstruct your vision. Pay attention to your peripheral vision. Should your vision be obstructed, remove the helmet and reinstall the Da Brim visor.

💡 Tip: After proper installation, your vision should not be obstructed. Look up, down, and side to side to confirm.

Section 2: Removable Visor or Flush Front

For helmets with a flush front, removable visor, or pre-moulded lip up to 1 inch in width. Remove the visor first.

1

Begin with a Loose Adjustment Strap

Start with the adjustment strap fully loosened before installation.

💡 Tip: If your helmet has a removable visor, remove it before installing the Da Brim product.
2

Grip the Centre Back of the Helmet

Hold your helmet at the centre back with your thumb on the outside and grip the centre back loop of the Da Brim visor at the same place with your thumb.

💡 Tip: Make sure you have a firm grip on both the helmet and the Da Brim loop together.
3

Rotate and Seat the Visor

Place your other hand at the front of the Da Brim visor and rotate the assembly upside down. Push the helmet against your chest and slowly pull the Da Brim visor over the helmet, seating the visor's edge on the helmet. The black underside of the Da Brim should end at the bottom edge of the helmet.

💡 Tip: Work slowly and ensure the visor seats evenly all the way around.
4

Flip Over and Tighten the Strap

Flip the assembly over and tighten the strap by positioning your thumb at the rear of the helmet and pulling on the strap. Tuck the strap into the hole provided.

💡 Tip: The strap should feel snug and the Da Brim should not rotate freely on the helmet.
5

Check for Correct Installation

Centres of the helmet and Da Brim visor should align. If necessary, pull to straighten. Always ensure the strap is tight. The Da Brim visor should always seat below the front helmet surface, as shown, to prevent detachment. The front pocket should be closed and have a low profile.

💡 Tip: If the Da Brim product does not seat as described, do not use it with this helmet. Failure to properly seat the visor could result in it unseating during use, startling a horse, or obstructing your vision.
6

Fit Your Helmet and Test Vision

After the Da Brim visor is installed on the helmet, follow the helmet manufacturer's instructions for fitting the helmet. Then, while the helmet and Da Brim visor is fitted, and prior to using it in an activity, check to ensure that the Da Brim visor does not obstruct your vision. Pay attention to your peripheral vision. Should your vision be obstructed, remove the helmet and reinstall the Da Brim visor.

💡 Tip: After proper installation, your vision should not be obstructed.

How to Remove the Da Brim

Always remove the Da Brim when stationary and in a safe location.

1

Wait until you are at a safe location and at a rest position.

2

Disengage the Da Brim visor by releasing the tension on the strap by pulling up on the buckle.

3
